Ten Ways To Show You Care
- Make them a homemade meal, desert or some other treat that they may like.
- Write a poem about them or how much you love them. If you are musically inclined you can write a song for them. Perhaps you have artistic talent in drawing or painting. It can be a drawing of them or it can be a drawing of something else.
- Do work for them. Take over their household chores or other duties for a day, a week or even a month. Event little things like holding a load of laundry will send the message that you care without too much effort on your part.
- Listen to what they say. Even if you think they’re wrong show them the respect of at least listening. Laugh at their jokes, even if you do not think they are funny. Rather than making the situation on word by the silent, continue on the path of their joke change the conversation a little. Keep the conversation flowing so they don’t feel bad.
- Let them have their alone time. Perhaps they have a hobby or enjoy spending time with friends. These times of being apart can actually help strengthen relationships, because they ease tension that may be building as you are together. Let your loved one has some time to themselves that they only have themself to answer to.
- Give them a compliment. Nothing says you care like a genuine compliment. It tells them that you like little details about them. Complements also pick people up, they lift their spirits. Complements help change moods, whose self esteem. Another thing about complements is that they are easily remembered. People remember when they are told, “I like that hairstyle”, or some other complement.
- Make them laugh. If you are one on one with a person, a great way of showing them that you are interested in them, tell them a joke or funny story. Even giving a funny reaction to them is a good way of making them laugh.
- Write an old fashioned love letter. I say this because we are in the electronic age. All of us are sending e-mail, text messages and using voice mail to communicate. Sit down and write an old fashioned love letter because this is something that will not go out of format. Text messages can be lost when changing phones, and emails can be accidentally deleted. Love letters can be saved for years. Including years after we’re gone from the earth. We have, in historical records across the globe, the love letters of various figures of history. There is a good chance that future generations will not have love text messages and emails been sent today. Write them a letter they can keep.
- Remember the little things about them. Don’t forget birth, anniversary or other important dates. Know what their favorite color, song, movie or if their food is. This is really a great way to show someone you care. In their mind if you care enough to know about these detail you care about them.
- Say “I love you”. It is the ultimate way to show you care.
