You may say it’s too obvious. Central park might actually be the most expected location, but it’s an excellent choice for a successful date.
Central Park is famous all over the world and countless romantic movie scenes have been shot here. It is an amazingly scenic place in every season and offers an incredible array of things to do so you won’t be disappointed. It’s very charming during winter and autumn, and a green natural spot in the middle of New York City in spring and summer.

Central Park Zoo. Unusual date for sure. Open all year round with minor variations to opening hours. Visiting is rather inexpensive ( $10/ticket , worth spending during a date if you want to see some wildlife in the middle of the most technolgically advanced city in the world ). Over 130 animal species on an area larger than five acres.
Rent a rowboat. Yes, you can do that too in Central Park. No doubt it’s out of the ordinary things you do on a date. Gondola rides are available too but, in my opinion, the boat is a nicer idea on the first date.
Concerts, music and events. There’s always something happening at Summerstage ( inside Central Park ), and very often this something is free. If your date happens during an event you can enjoy the show and at the same time get to know each other better.
Ice Skating. Does it need to be explained? The perfect date at every age, funny and romantic at the same time.
Eating Out. Romantic, casual, cozy places. From the renowned Boathouse restaurant to other decks and kiosks. The perfect conclusion of the perfect date. If after spending some time together during other activities you want to push your date further pick a good place and have a nice dinner together.
